Brunswick Press supports growth with Duplo install
Following a recent move from Barnet to Hertfordshire, Brunswick Press are coming out of the pandemic aiming for growth with their latest purchase of a Duplo DBM-350 twin tower booklet system. Supporting them through the buying process, installation and training were CJB, one of Duplo’s UK dealers.
Mark Wootten, Owner of Brunswick Press said, “our plan is to grow our business further by being able to bring more work in-house. Speed up throughput and improve quality, and we couldn’t do that with our smaller Watkiss booklet maker, so we made the choice to opt for the Duplo booklet system. The DBM-350 is faster to set up, easier to run and enables larger pagination booklets so we just had to go for it. Every step of the way the team at CJB were thorough and helpful. As we already have Duplo equipment the interface was very familiar, so it was very easy to pick up – its an extremely easy machine to set up and use and we’re seeing improvements in our production times already. Carl at CJB is easy to deal with, very professional and knows our requirements very well.
CJB are an independent leading supplier of a large comprehensive range of print finishing equipment and are a Premier Duplo UK dealer. Their team is comprised of factory and manufacturer trained engineers and technicians that are certified to install, maintain and service a multitude of finishing equipment. Carl Boulter, Managing Director at CJB mentioned, “The team at Brunswick Press were very helpful and grasped the changes in the operator interface very easily. They were prepared for the install on the day with things being tidy and all in place ready to receive the new machine. The operator training was carried out on the day of install and the machine was running smoothly within 30 minutes of being in the door.”
Brunswick Press specialises in digital, litho and large format print and are based in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire just a few miles off the M25. They cater to a variety of commercial B2B customers ranging from startups to large corporations. The team specialises in Business stationery – Business cards to Letterheads, folders, Booklets, large format signage and posters. For events, they also produce banners and exhibition stand displays along with a variety of direct to object and garments printing for promotional items. The Duplo DBM-350 Booklet System joins 2 DC-446 multi finishers, various Morgana finishing machines including a Printbind KB2000 PUR binder, a Stahl T52 folder and Polar 76 guillotine. Also in their finishing department they have a GMP laminator with foiling, various drills, binding equipment, plotters and a Heidelberg platen. Their press room includes Heidelberg SM52 4 colour litho, Ricoh digital press 7100, and Epson large format eco solvent. Mark continues, “Since 1974 we’ve collected quite the range of equipment which means we can fully cater to our customer needs without the need for much outsourcing. The Duplo booklet maker allows us to keep much more of our booklet production work in-house.”
“During the pandemic like everybody else, the work dried up overnight but we were very lucky. We had created an online portal for much of our products which meant that we had revenue from online customers, which actually saw an increase in business. We also made use of the furlough scheme but thankfully we are now back to pre-pandemic staff levels and work has been increasing month on month. With restrictions being lifted all over the country we’re hoping that the next few months will see even more increases with incoming orders and our online shop has never been busier.
